The 1.8 supercharged S3 Elise differs from its predecessor with a new generation of Toyota engine, and the addition of a chargecooler system. More power can be made from the engine by improvements to the exhaust and induction systems.
The original exhaust manifold is taken from the Toyota donor car, and has small bore and short lengths. Replacing this with a Komo-Tec optimised stainless steel 4-1 manifold and sports catalyst, allows the engine to breathe better.
To improve the induction, a TRD airbox is installed, to allow a greater volume of cooler air to reach the engine. Additionally, a revised supercharger pulley provides a little extra boost.
To take best advantage of these changes, and ensure the safety and longeivity of the engine, an ECU remap is required which optimises the ignition, injection, and variable cam timing to deliver 263bhp and 202 ft/lb of torque - an increase of around 40bhp over the standard car.
The upgrade kit consists of:
- Komo-Tec Stainless Steel 4-1 exhaust manifold
- Komo-Tec 200cpi sports catalyst
- TRD Induction Kit
- Revised pulley and sc/aux belt
- Engine management system reflash
- Installation at Hangar 111
This performance upgrade kit comes with optimised manifold and sports catalyst, however there is an option to use your existing aftermarket manifold and sports catalyst if they are already fitted - please contact us for pricing.
Note that this kit is not supplied with a sports exhaust, however it is strongly recommended to use one, to ensure that the stated power is achieved. See accessories tab, for our Signature exhaust option.
